The Energy Poverty Alleviation Office (EPAO) of the City of Athens offers a range of specialized services to support citizens, aiming to reduce energy consumption and address energy poverty.

Recording and Assessment of the Energy Footprint and Energy Habits

EPAO records and evaluates citizens’ energy  the energy footprint and habits through an advanced platform developed by the Sustainable City in collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). This process enables the accurate tracking of energy consumption and the creation of an energy behavior profile for each household.

Support and Proposal of Tailored Solutions

EPAO supports citizens by proposing customized solutions to reduce energy expenses. Through specialized advice and recommendations, citizens can adopt practices and technologies that lower energy consumption and costs.

Consultation

Our office offers in-person consultations to City of Athens residents, providing one-on-one meetings to assess their energy needs and deliver tailored solutions.
This service ensures direct support and targeted advice, helping households take meaningful steps toward reducing energy poverty.

Issuance of the Energy Card​

EPAO issues the Energy Card for citizens who meet the criteria. The Energy Card is an important tool that facilitates access to services and support programs for the energy upgrade of households.

Household Energy Adequacy Advisory Report

The Office issues the Household Energy Adequacy Advisory Report, a detailed 18-page analysis that provides a full assessment of the household’s energy status and suggests improvements to increase energy efficiency.

Through these services, EPAO is committed to supporting the citizens of the City of Athens in improving their energy efficiency and reducing energy expenses, while creating a sustainable and resilient urban environment.
