The Energy Poverty Alleviation Office (EPAO) of the City of Athens participated in the 5th ESG Universe Forum, the annual conference on sustainability and corporate social responsibility, held online in June.
During the conference, Sustainability and Energy Poverty Advisor Avgi Gonou presented the Office’s work, highlighting that the energy transition can only be achieved when it is grounded in energy justice and social resilience. As she said, “the Office’s aim is to combine energy justice with social cohesion. We are interested in the social footprint of actions and that is why we give priority to the most socially vulnerable citizens”.
The 5th ESG Universe Forum focused on the key pillars of sustainable development for businesses and organizations, including assurance and governance, sustainable finance, supply chain resilience, and nature protection.
